William J. Brunken, PhD, Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Director of the Center for Vision Research, has been elected to serve on the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology's Research Director's Council for five years.
Dr. William J. Brunken was awarded a competitive renewal of his R01 grant from the National Eye Institute. The grant is entitled: Role of Extracellular Matrix in Retinal Development and Disease.
The primary mission of the Center for Vision Research is to seek fundamental understanding of vision, from molecules to cells and tissues to visual perception, and to apply this knowledge to finding cures for blindness.
